Project Overview

This architect-designed cliff house uses Avara™ Character with a Barnwood Dark Night finish to create a dark, textured façade that responds to its exposed coastal setting. The brushed finish softens the surface of the timber, adding depth and variation across the boards while maintaining a consistent overall tone.

A combination of 140x19, 90x19 and 66x19 boards is used in a shadow profile to create a more random, less repetitive layout. This variation introduces movement across the façade while retaining a controlled overall appearance.

Avara™ Character provides a more natural, knotty appearance, which works well with darker finishes where variation within the timber is part of the overall design.
